Volunteer On Campus

We're in need of volunteers to help with:

  • Cleaning preschool toys in the classrooms (washing and drying)
  • Removing staples from walls, boards and cabinets
  • Cleaning/washing tables both inside and outside of the classrooms
  • Cleaning and dusting shelves in the classrooms
  • Cleaning and wiping down desks and chairs
  • Window washing
  • Washing and cleaning playground equipment for the Preschool
  • Organizing Preschool storage bin and/or rooms
  • Building and painting small picket fence
  • Wiping down all door handles and railings
  • Sweeping leaves, trash, etc. on school grounds
  • Cleaning and washing preschool bikes


In order to comply with COVD-19 protocols, face masks are required at all times on campus, and other social distancing guidelines will be followed. 

Work at Happy Harbor Preschool

We are looking for a qualified Christian Preschool Teacher to help children reach their developmental potential. A preschool teacher that has a minimum of 12 units in Early Childhood Education/Child Development. A teacher that must have a great love and patience for children. Qualifications needed to teach them effectively include the ability to engage them and earn their trust and attention. The goal is to contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of the child so they can more easily acclimate to the next level of education.


Responsibilities

  • Develop a careful and creative lesson plan suitable for preschool children
  • Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media, etc.) to teach children
  • Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
  • Encourage children in their love and faith in God
  • Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
  • Supervise children in the classroom and on the playground to maintain social distancing.
  • Track children’s progress and report to parents
  • Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background and psyche
  • Collaborate with other educators
  • Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards

Skills

  • Proven experience as a Preschool Teacher
  • Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
  • Familiarity with safety and COVID sanitation guidelines for classrooms
  • Excellent communication and instructional skills
  • Ability to act as a mediator between children
  • Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable
  • Certification in child CPR or willing to obtain certification

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
